Top 5 Anti-gravity Places In India

Yes, you got it right these places in India really defy gravity. What I suggest is, it should also be researched that if Sir Isaac Newton had seen the apple (not falling to ground but flying above) at these places would our laws of gravity been different?

Jokes apart let’s find out about these anti-gravity places in India:

The Reverse Waterfall

Waterfalls look beautiful and it is relaxing to see water fall beautifully from such heights. But in this waterfall water moves upwards instead of falling down.

Naneghat waterfall also known as reverse waterfall is located near Pune in Maharashtra. It is now a popular tourist destination. Important question is why does it happen? Well it is considered that due to it’s typical location there are strong wind currents that forces water upwards

Ulta Paani or Bisar Pani

As the name suggests, here water streams do not flow downhill instead it flows uphill!

Yes, uphill. Ulta Pani or Bisar Pani as it is locally know is situated in Chhattisgarh’s Mainpet area. Mainpet is also called Shimla of Chhattisgarh. It is a place where Tibetan refugees were settled earlier by the government. The Bisar Pani is a matter of curiosity from many locals and tourists. Why does it happen there? Well, some say it is a sort of optical illusion created by nature.

A hill where vehicles move uphill!

Yes, this sounds surprising but it is a fact at Pandariya magnetic hill near Dewanpatpar village in Kawardha district of Chhattisgarh.

Vehicles instead of coming downwards from a hill slope upwards. This means if you park your vehicle without applying hand breaks on the foothills, the vehicle will climb up the slope!

This phenomena is attributed to optical illusions created by the topography.

A heavy pillar is hanging without any support for centuries!

This pillar is one of the architectural mysteries. One of the many pillars at the Lepakshi temple situated in Anantpur district of Andhra Pradesh literally hangs from the roof!

There are a total of 70 pillars and one of the pillars is does not touch the ground. One can literally pass objects from its base.

At this hill never park your vehicle without brakes!

Cyclops hill in Ladakh also known as magnetic hill is a small stretch of road situated at a distance of around 30 kilometres from Leh city.

It is said that if a car is left with it’s engine switched off, it will roll up the hill at a speed of upto 20 kilometres per hour! But why? Again the same explanation, it is said to be apparent due to some sort of optical illusion.

The multi-utility of a Condom!

Condom—mention of this five letter word pulls up a smile, sometimes mischievous, sometimes romantic, or sometimes it’s just smiling to ourselves types of smile.
But hey we all know the use of condoms! Don’t we?
Yeah, of course we do know the ‘uses’ of condoms, but what I am talking about is my latest discovery of an utility of this marvelous invention of mankind and I can swear none of you would have heard and even imagined about it.

Have heart guys!
I will narrate the entire episode that made me smile, but in a different way!

A dear friend of mine, whom we often refer to as, ‘teddy bear’ given to his 100+ weight. Visited my place recently.
It was raining, we roamed here and there, had fun and returned home late in the night. Tired of mid-night nomadic wanderings just wanted to retire on bed.
We were preparing the bed when to my shock, he took out a packet of condom from his pocket!
I didn’t ask anything at first, thinking he might have purchased condoms for the good times ahead (he is married and lives away from his beloved wife and was about to catch a train, the next day to reach her).
But no, this was not the case.
He did not stop by just taking out the packet, but opened it up.
Unable to resist my curiousness I asked at once, “Abey kya karega iska? (What will you do with this?)”
“Ruk na” (just wait) was his reply.
He took out the condom and wore it.
No, no, dear readers you are wrong here, he didn’t wore it on ***** but he wore it on the thumb of his right leg!

He had an injury in his thumb and got his nail removed by surgery recently. The injury needed to be dressed daily and while we were roaming it got drenched.
He wore it over the injury before sleeping. Amazed I asked why?
His answer was real a googly.

Picture taken on condition that face wont be shown

“Yar I am heavy. Mai jab sota hu na toh ismey chot lag jaati hai dressing bhi khul jaata hai, phir nahane mey v taklif aati hai. (When I sleep, my injury gets hurt, dressing over the wound gets opened and I get trouble due to the wound while taking bath)”, he said, while wearing the condom on his thumb.
“Condoms are sterilized so there is no risk of infection. They are soft and get wrapped up around the thumb so it reduces the chances of getting hurt and lastly I can easily take bath in the morning as these condoms are waterproof. It’s coz of these features I am wearing it on my thumbs from the day I had the surgery,” he said replying to my wide opened curious eyes.
What a genius he is! LOL

Sukhen Da’s Quest For Love

(Story is based on a real character, names; places have been changed to conceal identity)
With the first proposal (which is the last till today) of love at an early age of 7 years Sukhen Da (Full name could be Sukhendra Banerjee, Mukherjee or any other Bengali name which suits the acronym) sailed off on his unending expedition for love.
It is quite obvious for most of us to forget the experiences of our class 1 but people like Sukhen Da can’t afford to forget.
“It was a sheet taken from English notebook, that four line notebook which is prescribed for improving handwriting in lower classes— where she wrote, ‘ami tomake bhalo basi’ (I love you in Bengali),” Sukhen Da said.
“I was scared, actually then I wasn’t aware what it means else would never let the first opportunity go”, Sukhen Da said remembering the pretty girl, with a sip of Old Monk Rum.
Rum, unlike, his ‘would be’, girlfriends has never given Sukhen Da a slip.
Almost 25-years down the line she is mother of a girl who studies in the same school, he said.
He still feels obliged to that little girl who proposed him unlike others who went away.
When he started understanding the nuances of love, thanks to the movies of Mahanayak (Uttam Kumar) and Poshenjit, Sukhen Da— got one more opportunity when he was in class IX.
He used to go to a ‘parar meye’  (neighbhourhood girl) for studying, she like Bobby’s ‘Dimple Kapadia’ used to wear  ‘super shorts’ and tried to ‘seduce’ our Sukhen Da.
Icche toh chilo kinto abar seyi bhoy (was definitely interested and but again that fear) I stopped going to her place,” Sukhen Da said.
In a year’s time I came know that she is having an affair with a Parar Dada (neighbourhood’s senior), Sukhen Da heaved a sigh.
There was no benefit regretting and it inspired him to start up an affair. There was another neighbourhood girl, a pretty one, Sukhen Da started giving ‘line’ (making advances) to her.
“I used the same traditional styles, following her, waiting along the road side at her time of returning from school. And one day there was no one in the lane, I mustered courage and went ahead,” Sukhen uttered with a nervous gesture as if he is in the same old days.
“She was walking ahead, I just said, ‘Kichu bolte chai tomake’ (want to tell you something), she didn’t even turned back and don’t know why I felt relieved, though the relief was temporary,” he said galloping a sip of Old Monk.
“The very next day a dada (neighbourhood senior) came to me and said what you are doing is not good. And I knew my story came to an end. Today she is happily married with that dada” he said.
But this could not deter Sukhen Da, then when he was in class XI, came the Cadbury affair. “Yes for two and a half years, I gave her a small Cadbury twice a week when we used to meet a accounts tuitions and she used to take it sweetly,” Sukhen Da said.
“During this I proposed her thrice at an interval of six months but she refused. During the last attempt when I was in graduation first year, she informed me very politely that she is having an affair with one of our common friends, left with no other option now, I bid her adieu,” he said.
Later around 3 years ago, I came to know that she got married to someone else, he said.
However this girl came back to Sukhen Da’s life though only on whatsap, after his 24th failed attempt but only to inform that she got divorced from her husband and she is marrying for second time in 10 days.
Now Sukhen Da started doing odd jobs to earn some money and during one such jobs that he met the girl which made him do put one of the most courageous efforts of his life.
“I saw her at a marriage party where I went as a camera person. I liked her a lot when I inquired about her I came to know that she lives with her mother and her father has passed away years ago. This sparked a  sympathy for her in my mind and fuelled my emotions. I did not wanted to have any casual affair with her or cheat her, but wanted something serious this time, so that I could help that poor pretty girl,” Sukhen Da said.
I checked about his address, took a friend with me on my bicycle and went straight away to her home the very next day, he said.
“I asked for her mother and told her that aunty I am studying and at the same time working, in some years I will be earning well. And as your girl is also growing up now, I hope that you must be worried about her marriage, I want to marry her, though not now but want to fix dates for marriage if you permit,” Sukhen Da told me adding, “Thank god she didn’t beat me up for my misbehaviour, but she politely told me that she will have to discuss the issue with the girl’s maternal uncles as they are her only guardians now and she will let me know after discussing with them”.
She evaded me but, evading me was not an easy task, I kept on going to her place and meeting her aunty for next three months, but as time passed by I stopped going there, he said.
Thus this affair also came to an end.
Six months after this Sukhen Da, went to his relatives’ place in a nearby district. “Here I met a girl we exchanged numbers and we started chatting. She also lived in the city around  2 kilometers from my place and she too visited as a guest to the common relatives’ place,” Sukhen Da said.
Talking went on for few months, then one day she insisted on meeting.
“I have something important to discuss can you come down near my college, she said to which I readily agreed,” Sukhen Da said.
“’Amader Majkhane Ja Kicchu Hoyeche Se Ta Bhalo Nei’ (whatever that has happened between us is not good) was the ‘important thing’ she wanted to discus, thus it came to an end,” Sukhen Da said, “But years on, till today I cannot understand what happened between us, having sex is a far thing, I never even touched her”.
Then life took several turns and Sukhen Da had to shift to another city.
Here in office, I chanced upon a pretty girl, used to message her and she used to acknowledge it too, at least as far as I believe, Sukhen Da said while going ahead for another peg of Old Monk.
“This time around also I gave her a Cadbury, she accepted I was happy took it as a positive signal. I messaged her again the next day that you were looking beautiful in that dress. Within hours I got a call from my boss who instructed me not to message her anymore,” Sukhen Da lighted a cigarette.
Two months later, I came to know that she is getting married and I took refuge of rum, four pegs down the line, again texted her ‘congratulations and best of luck for your new life’ within minutes boss was calling on my number, he said.
But these failures, failed to deter Sukhen Da from taking chances, rather now he takes chances on anyone on whom he can.
He again chanced upon a friend, SMSed her, started going close to her and ultimately proposed her to be rejected again. “It was a mistake,” he admits.
But this mistake was too low to deter him from his pursuits, after all he is on an expedition.
Sukhen Da (as has been told he started taking chances on anyone, he didn’t want to leave any stone unturned now) again took chance on a girl of his office. However, this story came to an end without much juicy references as failures though could not deter Sukhen Da but have certainly made him mature enough to be a bit cautious.
After this small, stint Sukhen Da again chanced upon boss’s friend. Whatsap proved to be very useful. “She used to talk to me till late in the night but don’t know what happened that she complained about it to boss brining an end to this adventure also,” Sukhen Da said.
Aar Chai Na Ami Ekla E Bhalo (don’t need anymore I am better alone), he said emptying the Old Monk, bottle.
But indeed this was a drunken statement, the hope in his eyes contradict his words and his quest is likely to continue…

Author Comments: I feel had anyone of his attempts been successful he would have stopped giving such attempts-LOL.
(Entirely based on drunken conversations with Sukhen Da)

Anonymous letter-A prized possession

I don't know the person who wrote this letter. I was in class XI at that time when casually I sent a story to a local Hindi newspaper Sanmarg which was having some story contest. They published it and gave me a prize, but it was only through this letter which came  in response to the story, that I came to know that my story was published. It was only two days after I got this letter, that I received a money order of Rs 250 from the newspaper, that was the prize money.  Since then, (2001) the letter is with me with time its withering so just to preserve it I made it digital. I will ever remain thankful to the author of this letter who took pains to write back, she was pursuing her graduation that time and I was just a 10th pass out (However the newspaper only published my name and address not my age) and its not possible for me to express what I felt when I received this letter.

THE UNPUBLISHED NEWS: Story of a paan vendors' poor but brilliant girl...who lost both her legs in an accident

Some news are not published but they really don't need any publication to serve their purpose.
I got a call from a desperate father who was struggling to take her daughter home from hospital which was not allowing him due to non-payment of bills.
He was the father of a girl whose both the legs were recently amputated.
He was a paan vendor but he set an example in todays' era when male children are considered privileged, he choose to make her girl pursue MBA instead of his male children, because his limited income as a paan shop owner could only bear the expenses of one child's study. But destiny had more tests in store for him.I wrote a story but more than that I wanted to assure the safety of the girl. Being a journalist we have some limitations, story could be published and immediate relief could be obtained but what after that...was the question which restricted the publication of this story till April 11.
When I submitted it  on April 11, I was already sure about the things which would happen next, but unfortunately--space crunch and miscommunication--the news was not published on April 12th edition, but fortunately enough---The girl was released from hospital without any conditions----the institute of girl assured of securing her rehabilitation and payment of bills.

Submitted on April 11, but not published news
Amarjeet Singh
Being born in a poor family have never been a deterrent for 18 year old Firdaus who bypassed all the hurdles, both financial and social to get admitted at an MBA course but destiny has something more cruel for her. She lost both her legs in an accident by her own institute’s bus, as if this was not enough now the poor girl is not being allowed to go home from hospital due to non-payment of treatment money by her college administration.
Firdaus Ansari,18, daughter of Mohammed Sharif, a paan vendor, was a student of BBA, 3rd semester at Brijmohan Mishra Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences,(BITMS), Burhanpur met an accident on February 22, while she was travelling in her institute bus. The institute is owned by Amit Mishra who is relative of school education minister, Archana Chitnis.
Since then she has been admitted at the Gokuldas Hospital of the city.
"She had injuries in her spinal cord which led to the paralysis of both her legs; we are giving best treatment to her. Now physiotherapy is required may be in some time her legs get well," Dr Deepak S Kulkarni who is treating the patient told DNA.
Older in two siblings, Firdaus was good at studies so her father who owns a paan stall suffered all hardships for ensuring her studies.
"I had to pay Rs1200 per month for bus transporation we anyhow managed for the purpose we also reared animals to earn extra," father of Firdaus, Mohammed Sharif told DNA.
"The hospital is not giving discharge to her basically because the payment is not being made from the college administration. They are putting a condition that I should sign a paper where it has been written that I will not take any legal action against them then only payments would be made," he added.
"I don't have any grudge but doctors are telling that there is no guarantee when will my daughter recover under those conditions how could I sign it," he said.
The institute is owned by school education minister Archana Chitnis's brother Amit Mishra he also asked me to sign the papers, said Sharif.
For the past 15 days, Sharif whose economic condition is not good is making all the payments of medicines which are required for treatment, because hospital authorities failed to provide medicines.
The college administration made payments to the tune of Rs2.5 lakh but bills to the tune of Rs1.5 lakh are still pending, college administration has actually stopped the payments because they want that the kin of patient sign an agreement that they will not take legal action a doctor from the hospital pleading anonymity told DNA.
While talking to DNA, administration of the college assured that payments will me made at the earliest and rehabilitation would also be ensured.
"I was out of station so there has been a communication gap with the kin. But payments will me made at the earliest and we are ready to co-operate for rehabilitation of the patient," secretary of the BITMS, Anil Jain told DNA.
The hospital authorities said that treatment is being done though payments are due.
"We had a word from the doctor who referred Firdaus to our hospital and they will be coming to Indore on April 12 and hopefully issues if any will be resolved,"  director of the Gokuldas Hospital, Dr Sanjay Gokuldas told DNA.
